Please find for consideration a 1797 Liberty Cap Half Cent, the 1 Above 1 variety.
Please note the coin has a very old cleaning and the surface displays porosity and pitting.  Please also note the very fine scratches/brush marks across the surface of the obverse/reverse.  Also note the indent on the obverse in the 2 o'clock position.  The pressure of the indent can be slightly seen/felt on the reverse.  Also note the damage to the rim and surrounding region on the obverse (2 o'clock) and reverse (4 o'clock).  We have provided a few photos each of the obverse/reverse.  Photos #1, 2, 7 and 8 are of the coin flat on a surface and best reflects the tone of the coin when viewing directly, while photos #3, 4, 5, 9 and 10 are of the coin at a slight angle to provide greater detail.
We rarely assign a grade to our coins as the grading criteria can be quite subjective. We have provided a high resolution photo of the obverse and reverse of each coin so that you can thoroughly review and make a grade determination for yourself.
