It's important to be prepared. A large recessed cavity features a twist lid to seal in 1/2-pound of dry or wet food. The rest of the unit is hollow, holding up to 2.5 gallons of water.
To use the unit, lift up the handle end and remove the rubber plug so the bowl backfills with water. When it's time to go, tilt upwards to return left-over water inside and push plug into place.
